There are a lot of pricey makeup products on the market and most don’t warrant the high price tag.

There are so many amazing products now on that are affordable match for a lot of high end items that implement the same formula and technology for half the price (or less).

Though I’ve tried many foundations and concealers over the years, nothing matches Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer. This is one of the absolute best face coverage products I’ve ever used and it’s good to the last drop, even though it takes a long time to use.

Edward Bess is one of the hottest cosmetics brands you can find on and the blogosphere is buzzing about this year. The brand is a favorite of Oprah’s and he has many innovative products that make even the most experienced makeup junkie sit up and take note.

Products for the lips and cheeks are nothing new, but this clever compact does stand out because of it’s packaging and performance. The Edward Bess Compact Rouge has staying power unlike any other cream product I’ve used.

Blush is what makes my face look like me. I love mascara too, but blush just adds that healthy flush to my face that makes me able to face the day. I love all
blushes, but unfortunately, the vast majority in my collection don’t last past lunch time. I can layer a cream with a powder, but even then, the staying power only gets me through mid-afternoon.

Enter the nifty Shu Uemura Cheek Brush, which came to my attention when trawling through our favourite

For people like me with fair skin, obtaining a nice tan can be slim to none. However, there a few ways to work around the sun and still acquire a healthy glow. One way is to use a bronzer.  So, I searched for the best range of bronzers.

With the advent of facial bronzing powders a few years back, I was quick on the draw. Rather than use a liquid self tanner and wait for results, bronzers offer convenience as well as immediate satisfaction.

Bare Escentuals BareMinerals Golden Fair

February 14, 2012

If I could change anything about my complexion, it would be my skin’s redness that can come out, especially during dry winter seasons. I always feel like I need a strong foundation to mask this up.

In the past I’ve been a little wary of mineral make-up, fearful that it wouldn’t provide the full coverage that traditional foundation does. Yet, ordinary foundation can feel thick and cakey, while mineral make-up has a much better reputation as being weightless.

It’s a 10 Miracle Daily Conditioner

February 10, 2012

In my experience, a daily conditioner is a daily conditioner. Seldom does one perform better or worse than the others, so I stick to what I find on special for daily conditioners.

I’m a fan of masks and deep conditioners and focus my hair energy there versus seeking out a stellar daily conditioner. It’s a 10 Miracle Daily Conditioner is a true game changer. As a fan of masks and thick conditioners, I know they moisturise like crazy, but can weight hair down. I like full hair to last me a few days after a blowdry.

Clarins One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser

February 9, 2012

Because of my dry skin, one beauty product that I always keep on hand in my beauty repertoire is a good exfoliating cleanser.

Recently, a friend gave me Clarins One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser to try out. I was getting tired of my old exfoliating cleanser which did a decent job, but was also difficult to wash off and left an unpleasant grittiness.

My hair is thick, wavy and typically dry, especially at the ends. I’m a major fan of hair masks, deep conditioners and leave-in conditioners. I’m all about hydration and I use these products year round to keep my ends in shape.

I have yet to have a Kerastase product disappoint, including this intense hair mask. It’s easy to use and should be used instead of a standard conditioner 1-2 times a week depending on your hair type.

Perricone Advanced Face Firming Activator

February 4, 2012

A few years ago, Perricone MD rocked the cosmetic world by claiming he was stopping aging in its tracks. On his website, he even offers a series of questions to help find which products better suit your skin’s needs. A popular product of Dr. Perricone’s is the Advanced Face Firming Activator lotion and after getting a recommendation, I decided to give it a try.

The Advanced Face Firming Activator comes in a pump bottle and one little push is enough to cover your whole face. It is recommended to apply the product day and night.
